Lutron Caséta installation
Caséta is the system most people mean when they say “Lutron smart switches.” It runs on Lutron’s own Clear Connect radio rather than your Wi-Fi, which is exactly why it keeps working when your router is having a bad day. That reliability is the main reason we recommend it over most budget smart switches.
A typical Caséta install with us includes:
- Swapping existing dimmers and switches for Caséta or Diva units, including three-way and four-way circuits with Pico companion controls
- Placing and configuring the Smart Bridge Pro so it integrates with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and Home Assistant

RadioRA 3 and RA2 Select whole-home lighting control
RadioRA 3 is the professional tier. Instead of controlling switches one at a time, you get engraved keypads at every entry, a single “all off” button by the door, motorized shades on the same system, and scenes tuned per room. It is designed to be commissioned by an installer, which is precisely the point — the programming is the product.
We handle load schedules, panel work coordination with your electrician, keypad engraving layouts, and the commissioning and tuning pass after you have lived with it for a few weeks. RadioRA 3 suits new builds, gut renovations and larger homes across Bergen, Passaic, Essex and Fairfield counties.
Lutron Serena and Sivoia motorized shades
Lutron’s shades are battery-powered and genuinely wireless, so you do not need to open walls to get them in. That makes them one of the few high-end upgrades that works cleanly in a finished home.
We measure, order the correct fabric and roll direction, mount inside or outside the frame, and put the shades on the same keypads, app and schedule as your lighting. Sun-tracking schedules that drop the shades before the afternoon glare hits the TV are, in practice, the feature people end up loving most.
Do you need an electrician to install Lutron?
Usually not, and this is the question we get most often. Most Caséta dimmers such as the PD-6WCL work without a neutral wire, which is why they retrofit well into older New Jersey housing stock. Some models — the switching units and fan controls — do require a neutral.
You need a licensed electrician when there is no neutral in the box and the model you want requires one, when a circuit needs to be added or re-fed, or when panel work is involved. We tell you which situation you are in before we start rather than after. For RadioRA 3 projects we coordinate directly with your electrician so the two trades are not tripping over each other.

The switches themselves do not — they use Lutron’s Clear Connect radio. The Smart Bridge needs a network connection for app control and voice assistants, but your lights keep responding to wall controls and Pico remotes even if the internet is down.
